Castell Howell Foods

Castell Howell Foods, the leading independent food wholesaler in Wales, moved in September 2007 into its new distribution hub at Cross Hands, Carmarthenshire, for which Shufflebottom constructed a warehouse covering 51,000 square feet and incorporating over 300 tons of steel cladding.

Castell Howell stocks more than 8,000 catering products, employs 280 staff and serves over 4,000 customers, from Cross Hands and satellite depots in Merthyr Tydfil, Gloucester and Bristol, as well as from its wholesale cash-and-carry in Carmarthen. Castell Howell Foods is the sole distributor for Celtic Pride premium beef, and managing director Brian Jones was chosen as True Taste Ambassador for Wales in 2006-07.
